Hard Maple or Rock Maple (Acer saccharum) is harder and heavier than its European Maple cousin, and technically, it will produce a similar result but with more power due to its heavier weight and strength. It has been used since forever in Fender Stratocaster necks and by some of the most skilled luthiers who enjoy a bright tone with great bass and treble.
We have cut this close to when we started back in 2016, but the boards were already around 10 years old, so now altogether they should be around 20 years old, naturally dried.
