This Brazilian rosewood comes from leftover boards that were destined for the manufacture of luxury furniture in a carpentry workshop in the north of Portugal, run by three generations of artisans from the late 19th century until its closure in the 1970s. This wood is estimated to be around 70 years old.

A nicely quartered black set with contrasting spalted sapwood in the backs and the sides, a bit narrow on edge with 85mm. A knot hole in the waist of the backs needs to be fixed and a knot hole in the sides needs to be filled, which will probably go away after sanding.
