Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard U7 | 200 Years/O | Ukulele
There is some history behind this piece of wood. The Queen of Portugal, Maria I (1734-1816), developed a furniture style in her name, inspired by the finest British furniture makers and the French Rococo movement. This represents the neoclassical period in Portugal and Brazil. This style of furniture was crafted by the finest woodworkers during the 18th and 19th centuries. All the originals were made from solid Brazilian rosewood with satinwood inlays, symbolizing happiness and love. Mahogany replicas were made in the late 19th century until early-mid the 20th century.
