European Spruce Bearclaw Top 2 | Classical Guitar
The Bearclaw spruce is considered one of the finest and it has been widely used by master luthiers along the years as the Hauser family or great brands as Martin or Santa Cruz guitars for instance.
These particular tops come from blocks that have been airdrying outdoors for a couple of years before we sliced them. The outside shows a dark blondish color from direct exposure to the sun. The tops are well cut, there is no need for much sanding.
The taptone shows an incredible balance between deep basses, great mid-range and higher harmonics on trebles with good sustain. Virtually this can pair with any back and sides to produce a master instrument.
The Bearclaw happens when the tree swings in the growth, it is like a scar that makes the wood harder and stiffer.
