Gonçalo Alves/Tigerwood Electric/Acoustic Guitar Neck #3

Gonçalo Alves also know as Tigerwood as tonewood as great acoustic properties, very resonant, the taptone shows complexity in the mids and trebles. Gonçalo Alves has superb stiffness, strength, hardness and durability with an average dried weight of 57 lbs/ft³ (905 kg/m³). It was widely used by high-end furniture makes in the past centuries. This particular one was salvaged from 18^th century furniture.
A curiosity is that the wood below near the root is figured and that’s how it got the name Tigerwood, the wood in the upper tree has straight grain which is the case of this one.
